In building his career he has overcome significant challenges, including renal failure which meant that for many years he was undergoing dialysis several times a week. In recent years his health has improved to the extent that he can lead a normal life after receiving a successful kidney transplant at the second attempt.
Despite the challenges, Zahid is driven by a deep-rooted passion to help others. This has taken the form of him setting up large-scale charity initiatives in the areas of education, health, and care for the most vulnerable members of society by providing free meals for the homeless and those in need.
The impact of his charitable activities, conducted under the name of the umbrella organisation UK Accreditation and Curriculum Body (UKCAB) which Zahid established in 2006, has been immense.
