The innovation is described in a letter of support by Senior Nurse Franel Ave, head of the Dialysis Unit at Queen’s Hospital in Romford, Essex. He tells how he and a colleague were able to share their innovation with over 12,000 kidney professionals from around the world at the American Society of Nephrology Kidney Week. Mr Ave says:
“We would not have been able to make the presentation without the support of Zahid, who financed our trip to the US. As a result, news of the innovative treatment was shared to the global kidney professional community. In the UK, so far three of our patients are using the home-care dialysis, transforming their lives.”
